Dao Tran is an intern at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments. Her research focuses on U.S. defense strategy, defense budgeting, and civil-military relations. She is currently a master’s candidate in International Relations at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), concentrating on security and strategy. At SAIS, she works as a graduate research assistant for LTG David Barno (Ret.) and Dr. Nora Bensahel.
Prior to joining CSBA, Ms. Tran conducted research for the National Security Policy Center in Charlottesville, Virginia and was previously a War Studies Fellow at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). She is currently a graduate fellow with the Rumsfeld Foundation.
Ms. Tran holds a bachelor’s in foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. She speaks Vietnamese.
